Soundarya Lahari 004

त्वदन्यः पाणिभ्यामभयवरदो दैवतगणः
त्वमेका नैवासि प्रकटितवराभीत्याभिनया।
भयात्त्रातुं दातुं फलमपि च वाञ्च्छासमधिकं
शरण्ये लोकानां तव हि चरणावेव निपुणौ॥

tvadanyaḥ pāṇibhyāmabhayavarado daivatagaṇaḥ
tvamekā naivāsi prakaṭitavarābhītyābhinayā|
bhayāttrātuṁ dātuṁ phalamapi ca vāñcchāsamadhikaṁ
śaraṇye lokānāṁ tava hi caraṇāveva nipuṇau||

Other gods and goddesses appear holding in their hands specific insignia's exhibiting their readiness  to protect and bestow boons upon their devotees. But, oh mother! in your august appearance, you don’t exhibit insignia's offering blessings to your devotees. However, your lotus feet alone are most proficient in protecting the world, removing fear from your devotees and blessing them by satisfying all their needs and more.

ത്വദന്യ: പാണിഭ്യാമഭയവരദോ ദൈവതഗണ:

ത്വമേകാ നൈവാസീ പ്രകടിതവരാഭീത്യഭിനയാ

ഭയാത്ത്രാതും ദാതും ഫലമപി ച വാഞ്ഛാസമധികം

ശരണ്യേ ലോകാനാം തവ ഹി ചരണാവേവ നിപുണൌ

അവിടുന്നൊഴികെയുള്ള ദേവഗണങ്ങള്‍ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നത് അവരുടെ കൈകള്‍കൊണ്ട് വരദാഭയവരങ്ങള്‍ നല്‍കുന്നവരായിട്ടാണ്. അവര്‍ എപ്പോഴും അതിനുള്ള ഛിഹ്നങ്ങള്‍ കൈകളില്‍ പിടിച്ചു തയ്യാറായി നില്‍ക്കുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ അമ്മേ, അവിടുന്ന്‍ മാത്രം വരദാഭയങ്ങള്‍ നല്‍കുന്നവളാണ് താനെന്ന് പ്രകടമാക്കുന്ന അഭിനയത്തോടെയല്ല നിലകൊള്ളുന്നത്. പക്ഷേ അവിടുത്തെ പദകമലങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമേ ഭക്തന്‍റെ ഭയനിവൃത്തി വരുത്താനും ലോകരക്ഷചെയ്യാനും ഉപാസകന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതിലധികം അനുഗ്രഹഫലങ്ങള്‍ നല്‍കാനും സമര്‍ത്ഥങ്ങളായുള്ളൂ.
