Soundarya Lahari 017

सवित्रीभिर्वाचां शशिमणि शिलाभङ्गरुचिभिः
वशिन्याद्याभिस्त्वां सह जननि सञ्चिन्तयति यः।
स कर्ता काव्यानां भवति महतां भङ्गिरुचिभिः
वचोभिर्वाग्देवीवदनकमलामोदमधुरैः॥

savitrībhirvācāṁ śaśimaṇiśilābhaṅgarucibhiḥ
vaśinyādyābhistvāṁ saha janani sañcintayati yaḥ |
sa kartā kāvyānāṁ bhavati mahatāṁ bhaṅgirucibhiḥ
vacobhirvāgdevīvadanakamalāmodamadhuraiḥ ||

Oh! Mother! Those who propitiate you and your retinue of Goddesses vashini, etc. get the ability to pen poems of epic nature. These Goddesses are authorities of word power, resplendent with a divine luster that revels the freshly cut lunar stone. Those blessed souls would create literary works that are comparable to that of classic poets and their words would be sweet and elegant immersed in the fragrance emanating from the lotus face of Goddess Saraswathi herself.

സാവിത്രീഭിര്‍ വാചാം ശശിമണി ശിലാഭംഗരുചിഭി:

വശിന്യാദ്യാഭിസ്ത്വാം സഹജനനി! സഞ്ചിന്തയതി യ:

സ കര്‍ത്താ കാവ്യാനാം ഭവതി മഹതാം ഭംഗിരുചിഭി:

വചോഭി: വാഗ്ദേവീ വദന കമലാമോദമധുരൈ: 

അമ്മേ, ഭഗവതീ, മുറിച്ചെടുത്ത ചന്ദ്രകാന്തക്കല്ലിനെപ്പോലെ തിളക്കമാര്‍ന്നവരും വാക്കുകളുടെ പ്രഭവസ്ഥാനമലങ്കരിക്കുന്നവരുമായ വശിന്യാദി ദേവതകളോടുകൂടെ അവിടുത്തെ ഉപാസിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് മഹാകാവ്യങ്ങള്‍ രചിക്കാനുള്ള കഴിവ് ലഭിക്കുന്നു. അവരുടെ വാക്കുകള്‍ പ്രഗത്ഭരായ കവിശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരുടേതെന്നപോലെ അത്യന്തം കാവ്യമയവും മധുരമനോഹരവും ആയിരിക്കും കാരണം അവയില്‍ വാണീദേവിയുടെ മുഖകമലപരിമളം വേണ്ടുവോളം പുരണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
