कवीनां सन्दर्भस्तबकमकरन्दैकरसिकं
कटाक्षव्याक्षेपभ्रमरकलभौ कर्णयुगलम्।
अमुञ्चन्तौ दृष्ट्वा तव नवरसास्वादतरलौ
असूयासंसर्गादलिकनयनं किंचिदरुणम्॥

kavīnāṁ sandarbhastabakamakarandaikarasikaṁ
kaṭākṣavyākṣepabhramarakalabhau karṇayugalam |
amuñcantau dṛṣṭvā tava navarasāsvādataralau
asūyāsaṁsargādalikanayanaṁ kiṁcidaruṇam ||

Oh! Bhagavathi, your ears are always listening intently to the nectar of praises flowing from the poems sung by eminent poets in their works of epic qualities. But the two bees, verily your eyes, are watching your ears raptly and relishing the nine rasas, including love, embedded aptly in those poems. As if jealous and envious of your two eyes being so close to your ears, your third eye has turned red in color.

കവീനാം സന്ദര്‍ഭസ്തബക മകരന്ദൈകരസികം

കടാക്ഷ വ്യാക്ഷേപ ഭ്രമര കളഭൌ കര്‍ണ്ണയുഗളം

അമുഞ്ചന്തൌ ദൃഷ്ട്വാ തവ നവരസാസ്വാദതരളൌ

അസൂയാ സംസര്‍ഗ്ഗാദളികനയനം കിഞ്ചിദരുണം

അല്ലയോ ഭഗവതീ, അവിടുത്തെ ചെവികള്‍ക്ക് കവിവരന്മാര്‍ രചിക്കുന്ന കാവ്യസന്ദര്‍ഭങ്ങളിലെ സ്തുതികളാകുന്ന പൂങ്കുലകളില്‍ നിന്നുമൊഴുകുന്ന തേനുണ്ണുക എന്ന ഒരേയൊരു രസഭാവമേയുള്ളൂ. എന്നാല്‍ അവിടുത്തെ ഭ്രമരസദൃശ്യങ്ങളായ കണ്ണുകളാകട്ടെ ആ ചെവികളെ സദാ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടും ആ കാവ്യാമൃതങ്ങളിലെ ശൃംഗാരാദി നവരസങ്ങളെ ആസ്വദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. നേത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഈ പ്രവൃത്തിയില്‍ അസൂയ പൂണ്ടാണെന്നുതോന്നുന്നു അവിടുത്തെ മൂന്നാം തൃക്കണ്ണ്‍ ചുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്.
