भुजाश्लेषान्नित्यं पुरदमयितुः कण्टकवती
तव ग्रीवा धत्ते मुखकमलनालश्रियमियम्।
स्वतः श्वेता कालागरुबहुलजम्बालमलिना
मृणालीलालित्यं वहति यदधो हारलतिका॥

bhujāśleṣānnityaṁ puradamayituḥ kaṇṭakavatī
tava grīvā dhatte mukhakamalanālaśriyamiyam |
svataḥ śvetā kālāgarubahulajambālamalinā
mṛṇālīlālityaṁ vahati yadadho hāralatikā ||

Oh! Devi, you always wear the thorns of goosebumps in your neck as you are regularly embraced lovingly by your consort Lord Paramasiva. Your neck resembles the stem of the lotus of your face. Lotus stem has darker creepers at the bottom and your necklace also has become black from the perfumed sandal paste with a carbon mixture you smear regularly. Thus the necklace which is naturally white has been stained with black shade and resembling the beautiful tender stalks of the lotus flower.

മൃണാളീ ലാളിത്യം വഹതി യദധോ ഹാരലതികാ

അല്ലയോ ദേവീ, ത്രിപുരദഹനം ചെയ്ത പരമശിവന്‍റെ നിത്യാശ്ലേഷത്താല്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും രോമാഞ്ചത്തിന്‍റെ മുള്ളുകള്‍ അണിഞ്ഞ് മനോഹരമായ അവിടുത്തെ കഴുത്ത് മുഖപദ്മത്തിന്‍റെ താമരനാളം പോലെ ശോഭിക്കുന്നു. അവിടുന്ന് കറുത്ത അകില്‍ ചേര്‍ത്ത ചന്ദനക്കുറിക്കൂട്ട് കഴുത്തില്‍ ധാരാളമായി പുരട്ടുന്നതിനാലായിരിക്കണം അവിടുന്നണിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വതവേ ശുഭ്രനിറത്തിലുള്ള മുത്തുമാല താമരത്തണ്ടിന്‍റെ താഴേ അറ്റത്തുള്ള താമരവളയം പോലെ കറുത്ത് ഭംഗിയാര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്.
