गुरुत्वं विस्तारं क्षितिधरपति: पार्‍व्वति निजा
न्नितंबादाच्छिद्य त्वयि हरणरूपेण निदधे
अतस्ते विस्तीर्‍ण्णो गुरुरयमशेषां वसुमतीं
नितंब प्राग्भार: स्थगयतिलघुत्वं नयति च

gurutvaṁ vistāraṁ kṣitidharapati: pār‍vvati nijā
nnitaṁbādācchidya tvayi haraṇarūpeṇa nidadhe
ataste vistīr‍ṇṇo gururayamaśeṣāṁ vasumatīṁ
nitaṁba prāgbhāra: sthagayatilaghutvaṁ nayati ca

Oh! Goddess! Daughter of the emperor of mountains, the Himavan, your mighty broad buttocks must have been obtained as the dowry for you from your father as they are very dense and massive as the base of a mountain. Your back is so large and heavy that it covers the entire contents of the universe making them very light in comparison. 

ഗുരുത്വം വിസ്താരം ക്ഷിതിധരപതി: പാര്‍വ്വതി നിജാ

ന്നിതംബാ ദാച്ഛിദ്യ ത്വയി ഹരണരൂപേണ നിദധേ

അതസ്തേ വിസ്തീര്‍ണ്ണോ ഗുരുരയമശേഷാം വസുമതീം

നിതംബ പ്രാഗ്ഭാര: സ്ഥഗയതിലഘുത്വം നയതി ച

അല്ലയോ പര്‍വ്വതരാജനായ ഹിമവാന്‍റെ മകളായ പാര്‍വ്വതീ ദേവീ, അവിടുത്തെ പിതാവ് തന്‍റെ നിതംബപ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നും വിസ്താരമേറിയതും ഘനം കൂടിയതുമായ ഒരു ഭാഗം മുറിച്ചെടുത്ത് സ്ത്രീധനമായി നല്‍കിയത് അവിടുത്തെ നിതംബങ്ങളായി ഭവിച്ചു. തടിച്ചു ഘനമാര്‍ന്ന  അവിടുത്തെ നിതംബം ഭൂമിയെയും മറ്റു മണ്ഡലങ്ങളേയും മറയ്ക്കുന്നത്ര വിസ്താരമേറിയതും താരതമ്യേന അവയെ  ലഘുവാക്കിത്തീര്‍ക്കുന്നതുമത്രേ
