पदन्यासक्रीडापरिचयमिवारब्धुमनसः
स्खलन्तस्ते खेलं भवनकलहंसा न जहति।
अतस्तेषां शिक्षां सुभगमणिमञ्जीररणित-
च्छलादाचक्षाणं चरणकमलं चारुचरिते॥

padanyāsakrīḍāparicayamivārabdhumanasaḥ
skhalantaste khelaṁ bhavanakalahaṁsā na jahati |
atasteṣāṁ śikṣāṁ subhagamaṇimañjīraraṇita-
cchalādācakṣāṇaṁ caraṇakamalaṁ cārucarite ||

Oh! Bhagavathi, your gait is stunning like no other. Swan-walk is considered a coveted trait of beauty, but that is only an unsuccessful imitation of your magnificent style.  Your house hold swans try to imitate your walk and falter, but they still continue to learn your style of walking. I wonder if you are not instructing them the trick with the tingling sounds produced by the gems of your anklets.

പദന്യാസക്രീഡാ പരിചയമിവാരബ്ധുമനസ:

സ്ഖലന്തേ ഖേലം ഭവന കളഹംസാ ന ജഹതി

അതസ്തേഷാം ശിക്ഷാം സുഭഗമണിമഞ്ജീര രണിത

ച്ഛലാദാചക്ഷാണം ചരണകമലം ചാരു ചരിതേ

ചാരുവായ പദചലനത്തോടു കൂടി വിളങ്ങുന്ന ഭഗവതീ, വീട്ടില്‍ വളര്‍ത്തുന്ന അരയന്നങ്ങള്‍ വഴുതുന്ന കാല്‍വെയ്പ്പുകളോടെയാണെങ്കിലും അവിടുത്തെ നടത്തയുടെ രീതി അഭ്യസിക്കാന്‍ താൽപ്പര്യപ്പെടുന്നു. സ്ത്രീസൌന്ദര്യത്തിനു മാറ്റു കൂട്ടുന്നതെന്ന് ഏറെ പേരുകേട്ട അന്നനട അവിടുത്തെ നടത്തത്തിന്‍റെ വികൃതാനുകരണം മാത്രമാണ്. എങ്കിലും അരയന്നങ്ങള്‍ ആ ശ്രമം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നില്ല. അരയന്നങ്ങളെ അവിടുത്തെ നട അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള വായ്ത്താരിയാണോ അവിടുത്തെ നൂപുരരത്നങ്ങളുടെ കിലുക്കം എന്ന് ഞാന്‍ ശങ്കിക്കുന്നു.
