पुरारातेरन्तःपुरमसि ततस्त्वच्चरणयोः
सपर्यामर्यादा तरलकरणानामसुलभा।
तथा ह्योते नीताः शतमखमुखाः सिद्धिमतुलां
तव द्वारोपान्तस्थितिभिरणिमाद्याभिरमराः॥

purārāterantaḥpuramasi tatastvaccaraṇayoḥ
saparyāmaryādā taralakaraṇānāmasulabhā |
tathā hyote nītāḥ śatamakhamukhāḥ siddhimatulāṁ
tava dvāropāntasthitibhiraṇimādyābhiramarāḥ ||

Oh! Bhagavathy, fickle minded devotees do not know how to worship your feet to propitiate you as you are the consort of Lord Parameswara. Indra and other gods reach up to your outer gate and easily get enchanted by the famed eight fold virtues, Anima, etc., and think that they have reached the ultimate. In fact, Indra and others can reach only up to the gate as an entry to the inner sanctum is extremely difficult to attain.

പുരാ രാതേരന്ത:പുരമസി തതസ്ത്വ ച്ചരണയോ:

സപര്യാ മര്യാദാ തരള കരണാനാമസുലഭാ

തഥാ ഹ്യോതേ നീതാ: ശതമഖമുഖാ: സിദ്ധിമതുലാം

തവ ദ്വാരോപാന്ത സ്ഥിതിഭിരണിമാദ്യാഭിരമരാ:

അല്ലയോ ഭഗവതീ, പരമശിവന്‍റെ അന്തപ്പുരത്തെ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നത് അവിടുന്നാകയാല്‍ ചഞ്ചലചിത്തരായവര്‍ക്ക് ആ തൃപ്പാദങ്ങള്‍ എങ്ങിനെയാണ്  പൂജിക്കേണ്ടതെന്ന് എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ പിടി കിട്ടുകയില്ല. ദേവേന്ദ്രനും മറ്റു ദേവന്മാരും അവിടുത്തെ ഗോപുരദ്വാരത്തിനു വെളിയില്‍ നില്‍ക്കുന്ന അണിമാദി അഷ്ടസിദ്ധികളാല്‍ ആകൃഷ്ടരായി അവയെ സ്വായത്തമാക്കിയിട്ട് തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അതുല്യമായ സിദ്ധികള്‍ ലഭിച്ചു എന്ന് കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. വാസ്തവത്തില്‍ ഇന്ദ്രാദികള്‍ക്ക് പോലും അവിടുത്തെ കവാടം വരെ മാത്രമേ പ്രവേശനമുള്ളൂ.
