कलत्रं वैधात्रं कतिकति भजन्ते न कवयः
श्रियो देव्याः को वा न भवति पतिः कैरपि धनैः।
महादेवं हित्वा तव सति सतीनामचरमे
कुचाभ्यामासङ्गः कुरवकतरोरप्यसुलभः॥

kalatraṁ vaidhātraṁ katikati bhajante na kavayaḥ
śriyo devyāḥ ko vā na bhavati patiḥ kairapi dhanaiḥ |
mahādevaṁ hitvā tava sati satīnāmacarame
kucābhyāmāsaṅgaḥ kuravakatarorapyasulabhaḥ ||

Oh! Bhagavthy, first among the chaste women, the beloved consort of Lord Parameswara, poets with the ability to write well can easily propitiate Goddess Sarawathy and with a little bit of wealth, people will get such titles as the Lord of Goddess Lakshmi, etc. But to get a bosom embrace from you is impossible for anyone except your Lord Parameswara. Even the inanimate henna tree which would blossom immediately upon a damsel’s breasts touch it do not have the fortune of touching yours. Because of your chastity, Lord Maheswara is the only one who gets to touch your breasts.

കളത്രം വൈധാത്രം കതി കതി ഭജന്തേ ന കവയ:

ശ്രിയോ ദേവ്യാ: കോ വാ ന ഭവതി പതി: കൈരപി ധനൈ:

മഹാദേവം ഹിത്വാ തവ സതി സതീനാമചരമേ

കുചാഭ്യാമാസംഗ: കുരവകതരോരപ്യസുലഭ:

അല്ലയോ പതിവ്രതാരത്നമായ പരമേശ്വരീ, സരസ്വതീ ദേവിയെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്ന എത്രയെത്ര കവികള്‍ അവരിലെ സാരസ്വത സിദ്ധിമൂലം ബ്രഹ്മപത്നിയെ സ്വാധീനിക്കുന്നു. കേവലം അല്‍പമായ സമ്പത്തിനുടമയാണെങ്കിലും ഒരുവനെ ലക്ഷ്മീപതിയായി കണക്കാക്കുക എന്നതും സഹജമാണ്. എന്നാല്‍ ഭഗവതീ, പാതിവ്രത്യശക്തിയാല്‍ അവിടുത്തെ പ്രീതിയ്ക്ക് പാത്രമായി മഹേശ്വരന് മാത്രമേ അവിടുത്തെ കുചാലിംഗനം ലഭിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ. നാരീസ്തനങ്ങള്‍ തൊട്ടാല്‍ പൂക്കുന്ന അചേതനമായ കുരവകമരത്തിന് പോലും അവിടുത്തെ കുചാലിംഗനം ലഭിക്കുക എന്നത് അസാദ്ധ്യം.
